Conor McGregor vs Mayweather Jr Goes 8-Bit In This Punch-Out!! Hack

By Nicholas Pendergast

I’ve been writing about politics a lot over the last few weeks, so let’s take a break from the world of Washington D.C. and take a step into another place where grown men viciously attack each other for sport; the ring, whether it’s used for MMA or boxing, can produce some of the most entertaining and physically dominant men on the planet. For ages, men from the boxing world have clashed with fighters from other competitive sports for events of charity and exhibition. Whether it’s ego, wish fulfillment, or for a good cause, there’s always another fantasy match to speculate.

Floyd Mayweather is the undisputed boxing phenomena who has rocked the sport for over two decades. In his class, there is simply no one like him, and he has proven it 49 times. Now that he is retired, the welterweight champion’s challenges no longer involve a battleground between the ropes, however, there is one man who wants to bring Mayweather back.

Conor McGregor says he would fight him in a boxing match for $100 million.

Now this may be a venture into the realms of impossibility, but since it’s 2017 and we millennials can’t be told no, someone has found a way to sneak around high improbability. A genius conceived of a way to hack Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather into a ROM of the Nintendo Entertainment System’s iconic boxing game Punch-Out!!

If you were a gamer around during the late ‘80s and early ‘90s, then Punch-Out!! probably sits up there in your list of most excellent things to remember, and now it delivers again with this customized match between the planet’s two best fighters in their respective class.

So how does the match go down? Well, you’re going to have to check it out for yourself, however, one thing is for sure, the 8-bit Mayweather hugs just as often as the real thing!
